What we collect

We collect only what a conversation requires:

• Name, email address, and the content of messages you send to [email protected] or through the contact page (which opens your own mail client).
• A cookie preference stored in your browser (local storage) so we do not ask twice.
• Technical logs that a host may keep for security — IP address, browser type, time of request — for a short period if an attack or fault requires it.

We do not run advertising cookies, analytics pixels, or social trackers on this site.

Why we use it

We use your details to answer you, to arrange a studio visit, and to keep a record of press or editorial correspondence. The legal bases are our legitimate interest in running an editorial house, and, where you have written to us, steps at your request before a possible appointment. We do not use your data for automated profiling.

How long we keep it

Ordinary emails are kept for up to twenty-four months after the last reply, unless a legal claim or accounting need requires longer. Cookie preferences stay on your device until you clear them. Security logs, if created, are kept only as long as the incident requires, then deleted.

Sharing

We do not sell data. We may share a message with a professional adviser (solicitor or accountant) if a legal question arises, or with a host or mail provider solely to deliver or secure the service. Those parties act on our instructions. We do not transfer mailing lists overseas because we do not keep mailing lists on this site.

Cookies

The only preference this site sets is your cookie choice (accepted or essential-only) in local storage. Essential operation of the pages does not require any further cookie. You can refuse non-essential storage via the banner; because we do not run optional trackers, the practical difference is that we will not remember the banner state if you refuse and then return on a fresh session.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you may ask to access, correct, erase, or restrict the personal data we hold, and to object to our legitimate-interest processing. You may also ask for a copy in a portable form. Write to [email protected]. We will respond within one month.

You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or by writing to the ICO, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, SK9 5AF. We would rather put it right first.

This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
